Child Trafficking Facts • According to the International Labor Association, at least one million children are prostitutes (Thailand, India, Taiwan and the Philippines) • It is estimated that 2 children are sold every minute • In 2006 UNICEF reported that they believe the number of children trafficked annually is around 1.2 million • The UN and other experts estimate the total market value of illicit human trafficking at roughly $32 billion

Love146 History • Sept 2002 • Co-founders Rob Morris, Lamont Hiebert, Desirea Rodgers and Caroline Hahm go to SE Asia on exploratory mission • Witnessed child sex trafficking and save homes • March 2004 • After research and networking formed Justice for Children International • October 2007 • JFCI became known as Love 146 (film)

How They Work • Prevention – Protect & Defend • Field Prevention • Education for at risk children and communities through media and outreach programs • Funding sustainable community development programs (micro-enterprise, agricultural development • Funding animation projects to highlight dangers to children • Funding a coalition of organizations in SE Asia to share prevention tools and ideas • Purchase of eight wells along the Thailand/Cambodia border to prevent children from wandering unsupervised

How They Work • Prevention – Protect & Defend • Advocacy prevention • Abolitionists – grassroots campaign aimed at increasing awareness and involvement • Craiglist Campaign – Urges company to take responsibility for the site’s role • Stop the Traffik – Global organization of coalitions committed to the abolition of modern-day slavery • Research & Reports – One of several organizations that funded a national research study into the prevalence and perceptions of Cambodian children to violence against children in Cambodia.
