DANGERS TO THE SOUL • INFORMATIONAL DANGERS - VARIOUS DOCTRINES Gal 1:6-9; Jhn 8:32; Gen 3:4 • Contrary to many, doctrine is important, we must be informed 2Tim 3:16,17; 1Thess 2:13; 2Thess 2:13; 2Jhn 9 • False doctrine is one of the major dangers Gal 1:6-9; 2Thess 2:12; Rom 10:1-3; Matt 24:4; 1Tim 4:1-3; 2Tim 4:1-3; Tit 1:9,11-14; 2Jhn 9,11; Isa 29:13 • Yet denominationalist believe doctrine is unimportant 2Jhn 9

DANGERS TO THE SOUL • BEHAVIORISTIC DANGERS - OUR CONDUCT Phil 1:27 • Conduct is of utmost importance Acts 3:19; Matt 13:14,15; Acts 26:18; Matt 21:28,29; Rom 6:16-18; Heb 12:14; Tit 2:11,12 • There are many temptations Jas 1:13-15; 1Cor 6:9,10; Gal 5:19,20; Matt 19:8-9; Mal 2:16; Isa 5:11; Eph 5:18; Prov 20:1; 1Tim 2:9; Prov 7:10 2Tim 3:16,17; 4:1-6 • Some think conduct is unimportant 2Tim 3:5; Tit 1:16; 1Jhn 2:3

  4. DANGERS TO THE SOUL • EMOTIONAL DANGERS: CONCERNS ATTITUDES, INDIFFERENCE Rom 7:15-25 • As a man thinks in his heart so is he Prov 23:7; Matt 22:37-39; Jhn 8:32 • Indifference: lukewarmness a real danger Rev 3:15-19; 2Pet 2:21,22 • Many suffer from indifference Matt 6:33

DANGERS TO THE SOUL • Certainly these are not all dangers facing the soul, but some we must be aware of in order to guard against them • Make sure we have the right information (the doctrine of Christ) 2Jhn 9 • Make sure our conduct is in accord with His teaching Phil 1:27 • Make sure our attitude is such that we desire to do right Rom 7:15-25

  6. DANGERS TO THE SOUL • Our enemy, the devil is always alert to our weaknesses 1Pet 5:8 therefore we must always be alert to dangers we face
