Ecole Centrale Pékin In 2004, the Chinese Ministry of Education asked the Groupe des Ecoles Centrales to set up an Ecole Centrale in China A spin-off from the success of the « 4+4 » Double-Degree progarmme. Beihang University was chosen as partner university. Centrale Pékin is an independent department of Beihang University. All criteria for an Ecole Centrale are fulfilled : a Généraliste engineering course with an international focus and close links with research and industry Centrale Pékin is a full partner of the Groupe des Ecoles Centrale and will be accredited by the French government (Commission des Titres d'Ingénieurs : CTI). Ecole Centrale Pekin was inaugurated in September 2005 with : 107 top level students, beginning with the preparatory cycle of 3 years CPGE (including intensive French language training) A 3-year master degree course in Science & Engineering, with the same design as the French Ecole Centrale course, starting in 2008 Associates and partners providing support : French Ministry of Education (funding of 3 French professors in 2005 and 2 more in 2006) Groupe des Ecoles Centrales (full time Deputy-Director and Assistant) Fondation Nicole BRU and the Honour Committee of the French Year in China French companies in China provide support for the engineering course.
