  3. Class of 2018-High School Minimum Graduation Requirements • A minimum of 23.5 credits are required for high school graduation in the Bellevue School District. Students earn a 0.5 credit for each class each semester. Additional graduation requirements are listed below. • minimum cumulative 2.0 grade point average (GPA) (Athletic/Activity eligibility also requires a 2.0 GPA) • minimum of 40 hours of Community Service • pass Reading, Writing, Math & Science sections of new Smarter Balance Testing (11th grade) • Washington State History requirement

Washington State History Requirement • If you were not in BSD in 7th and 8thgrade, you need to take the WA State History class. • If you came from another district or a private school and took WA State History there, we will need proof to demonstrate that the requirement has been met or you will need to make up WA State History.

  5. New to Bellevue School District in 11th or 12th grade • If you came to WA State in the 11th or 12th grade- please check in with your counselor about meeting the state requirement. • If you came to WA State and met state requirement for another state, please see your counselor.

  6. Options for completing WA State History • Class here at Interlake High School: .5 Credit Pacific Northwest History Social Studies Elective. • Bright Space Course: see your counselor for registration instructions. • Approved DLD Online Course: see your counselor for information. • We can discuss during your Blitz Appointment.

  7. Are you on track to graduate? • If you have failed any classes in English, History, Math, or Science and have not replaced the credit, be sure you have a plan in place! • Credit Retrieval is available NOW—See your counselor for registration paperwork. • Summer School registration is available in the counseling center starting in April. • 40 hours of Community Service recorded in X2Vol (accessed through Naviance).

  8. Your Future & 4 year College • Rigorous & Balanced schedule Senior year! • 4 Years Math and Science • Fine art (UC = 1 year of same class) • World Language (2-3 years minimum) • ACT or SAT Reasoning/SAT subject tests—Sign up and take them NOW! • NCAA – register with NCAA eligibility center • College visits – use breaks to visit and ask questions. • IB/AP courses will prepare you for the rigor of a college curriculum.

  9. Please Choose Carefully • Courses will be offered next year only if enough students register this Spring to fill a class. • It is very important that you think carefully about your choices now so that the courses you want will be available next year. • Once your schedule is built, changing your schedule will happen only under extenuating circumstances.

  10. If you are interested in a 2-period, year-long elective block class visit the new career center (now located in the library) TODAY to register. Ask for Ms. Gamrath. • Available at Interlake: Welding(Agnew, Zero and 1st periods) and Horticulture (Lindholm, 6th and 7th periods).

  11. Running Start is a program that allows 11th and 12th grade students to take college courses at community and technical colleges. • Running Start students have the unique opportunity to finish their high school diploma while earning college credit. • **Important: Full-time Running Start students must be enrolled in a minimum of 15 college credits.

  12. Attend the info meeting at 6:00 pm on March 9th during the Parent University event at IHS. • Sign up for the placement testing or submit one of the alternative options for English or math placement. • Attend a Running Start orientation meeting at BC. Registration is online.

  13. Your counselor will discuss the pros and cons of running start with you during your Junior Blitz appointment. Your counselor will also go over your graduation plan with you and sign off on your enrollment in Running Start. • You will also be required to submit a full schedule request at Interlake in case you decide to not pursue Running Start classes.

  14. English Options for 12th graders • The yellow course selection form has a mistake (Lists level 1 for seniors—just write a “2” over the “1”) You now have these classes to choose from: • IB/AP Language and Literature HL 2 – you should sign up for this class if you took HL 1 this year • IB Literature 2/AP Lit- you should sign up for this class if you took HL 1 this year • Senior English

  15. Online Registration • https://myclass.bsd405.org • Students must complete online registration AND fill out the paper registration forms.

  16. Registration Due Dates • Current 9th grade students will meet with the counselors the morning of March 15thand 16thin your Social Studies class. • Current 10th grade students will meet with the counselors during the week of April 3rd- April 7th. You will receive an appointment reminder from Ms. Miller (counseling secretary) the day before. • Current 11th grade students will meet with the counselors during the week of March 22-31. You will receive an appointment reminder from Ms. Miller (counseling secretary) on the day of your meeting.

  17. Yellow form  Fill out and return to your counselor on March22-31. You will have an Individual blitz appointment with your counselor.

  18. White form  Health Forms must be returned with course selection forms. Make sure your PARENT fills this out!

  21. Fall Sports Forms *Info Night: June 14th 7pm in the IHS Main Gym • Students participating in Fall Sports must have sports forms and fees turned in by August 18st. Football forms are due May 26th.. • First day of Practice: • Football August 16 • Volleyball August 21 • Soccer August 21 • Cross Country August 21 • Boy’s golf August 21 • Girl’s Swim August 21 • Boy’s Tennis August 21
