  5. To configure internet explorer • Open tools-internet options-connections • Click on settings [or lan settings ,depending on how you connect] • Use automatic configuration script\ • Enter file name like • File://c:/pac files/ad-block.pac • [Mine was in unzipped folder] • Continued next page

Once you have Blackhole loaded ,configure your browser. • for Internet explorer---- • Tools-internet options connections settings • Check Use automatic configuration script • File://c:/PacFiles/ad-block.pac • Fill in address 127.0.0.1 and port 3421 • Under security select local internet • Uncheck box “include all sites that bypass the proxy” • Turn off auto caching- • www.schooner.com/~loverso/no-ads/E-auto-proxy-cache.reg

  8. Use of pac files is more difficult to install • One big advantage is your web pages do not show cannot find server instead of advertisements. • The big advantage is--- • Blocking of spy ware AND BUGS. • NO MORE PHONE HOME!
