OARnet Fiber Builds Update for Ohio Colleges – April 2005

  6. POPs • All Schools are connected to TFN via uplinks from legacy POPs • If OIT decides to use old POPs as migration point there is a strong case to fully bind legacy POPs into TFN infrastructure

  7. Retire Old Backbone • Nearing completion • Only ones currently in service are where we have not turned up OADM or backhaul services

  8. Research Support • Working toward having a menu that is selectable

  9. Partners • Schoolnet design complete • Parts waiting in warehouse • Deployment schedule being developed • On hold • OIT • New interim director

  10. Current Projects • Netflow results are due 4/15/05 • We think we are schedule • Looking at options for traffic classification • Worst circuit finally resolved • Continue to refine BGP prefix listing
