  3. Gov’t- Promised 3 million acre reservation Gov’t promised to send supplies and food Tribes Promised to move to reservation Stopped raids on colonists Treaty EPIC FAIL (Quanah Parker refused to sign) Failed b/c some tribes did not move, Gov’t did not keep promises (food and supplies)

  4. Quaker Peace Policy 1869 President Grant hoped Quakers (Peaceful religious group) would help bring peace Policy Move tribes to reservations Give supplies, educate and protect Punish only natives who raided settlements

  5. EPIC FAIL II Policy failed b/c Gov’t did not provide enough supplies Allowed buffalo hunters on the reservation Conflict b/w Quakers and military LEAD to physical removal of tribes to reservations
