Join Michelle Mushkin and Sarah Slack for an interactive session designed to empower educators in creating high-quality ELA assessment items aligned with the RL CCRS. Participants will review released PARCC prototypes to become familiar with new item styles, draft assessment items, and apply general writing protocols. Through collaborative workshops, you will evaluate and edit peer-written items, ensuring alignment with educational standards. In light of the upcoming PARCC field testing, this session will equip teachers with essential skills for effective assessment writing.

This Session’s Goals: • PWBAT review released PARCC prototypes to familiarize with new item styles • PWBAT draft assessment items aligned to the RL CCRS • PWBAT apply general item writing protocols to improve drafted items • PWBAT evaluate assessment items and assess alignment to CCRS • PWBAT edit assessment items written by peers and offer suggestions for improvement
PARCC Field Testing at TLG • All K-12 TLG schools will be field testing PARCC tests this spring in Arizona. • Many will be giving ELA tests. • Some schools will be giving the tests online; other schools will be giving paper versions TLG ELA Field Testing Sites: ONLINE: ATHS 11th SPHS 9th AVHS 11th DHHS 10th MHPA 10th SPJHS 7th EHS 9th, 10th, 11th SRHS 9th, 10th, 11th PAPER: CVPA 8th SVHS 9th, 10th EDHS 10th VGPA 7th PAHS 9th QHS 9th SKYHS 9th
