Content Navigator Benefits vs. WorkplaceXT • Single Sign-on • Desktops – • allows customization from agency level down to division/department level • Searches • Users can build and share with whomever they want • Favorites • Make Favorites for objects and searches • Ability to sync between Mobile client and with NMO

Content Navigator • CN Mobile • Free application that will allow mobile users access to FileNet from anywhere they can connect to the internet. • Currently does not work with Single Sign-on. • Navigator Microsoft Office • Same integration with new synching of searches and favorites • Plugins • Added functionality that can be built or purchased. Some examples: • Warning Banner for DHS FTI • Riptide – print application

Content Navigator • Thumbnails and Properties visible in search results • Drag and Drop • Print from Navigator • Right click an object in Search results and Print is an option. • Important to note that annotations won’t print from this method, only when printing from the viewer. • Download multiple files into a .Zip file • Likes, Comments, Download Counts

Content Navigator Viewers • Applet – Java • Same features and functions as today with added functionality for Navigator • Virtual – HTML • Eliminates java dependencies for the viewer • Printing is a whole new process • Currently custom stamps and annotations can’t be added. IBM is working on this.

  8. Content Navigator Recommendations • Start moving users to Content Navigator • Can be deployed to users at your discretion. You pick who and when. • Take advantage of Single Sign-on • Continue using the java based viewer in Production while continuing to test with the Virtual Viewer • Custom annotations and stamps not working in Virtual Viewer • Printing has some bugs right now in Virtual Viewer. • Get users used to the new interface and the viewer switch can happen whenever the bugs are worked out.

Forms Proof of Concept • Goal is to be done with PoC by April 1st • Liquid Office maintenance renews in April and if we decide to make a change time will be needed to convert forms. • IBM Forms and Forms Experience Builder • IBM came onsite to do some training • Currently working on questions with IBM • Converting LO forms is not easy. Working with IBM to see if there are ways to improve the process. • Working on setting up a form for mobile devices • IBM PoC ends February 13th

Forms Proof of Concept • Adobe AEM • ITD has played with the designer so far • Server is being setup for doing lookups, stored procedures, etc. • Converted a LO form – Had to print to .pdf, import into Adobe, and add the fields. Calculations do not come across. • HP Liquid Office • Working with Binary Office and HP to get setup

  11. ILINX Email Import • Plugin to Outlook • Desktop client install and a config file • Ability to do lookups • Convert emails to tiff or pdf • Licensed per mailbox • Can be for a worker’s Inbox or for something like a Fax Line Inbox. • $71 one time cost per mailbox and $3.60 per month

Business Process Modeling Tool • Many moons ago we used Graham Charting • Great tool and discipline, just doesn’t transfer into a workflow solution • There is a need for this tool… The question is are people interested in looking for solutions? • Interest was indicated and more information will be gathered and shared.

Q & A • Google Chrome issue with the .pdf viewer • Tax has noticed that a fillable pdf form has problems displaying dates and printing them. • User fills in a date and it looks normal – 12/25/2014 • Tab out of the field and it displays – 00/00/2014 • Printing also shows the date as 00/00/2014 • If you go back to the field the date is correct, but it will not display correctly or print correctly. • Last post we could find was 8/5/2014 where Google acknowledged the bug and was working on it. • No other agencies have reported seeing this.
