  2. IP Configuration : • In system configuration, system administrator can separately enable access to WebSAMS from ITED LAN or via Internet. Security – IP Configuration • When a user logins WebSAMS, the system can detect whether the login comes from the SAMS LAN Segment. If the IP address of this workstation is same as that of the subnet of the WebSAMS server, the login is treated as from SAMS LAN Segment. • In order to allow a workstation in the ITED LAN to login WebSAMS, the following 2 conditions should be met: • Access from ITED LAN has been enabled; and • The IP address of this workstation has been entered to the IP Configuration table (Security > Configuration > IP Config)

IP Configuration : • For login from workstation whose IP address: • having different subnet as compared to the IP address of WebSAMS Server; and • having different subnet as compared to the subnet information of the ITED LAN defined in the system property file. the login will be treated as from the Internet. Security – IP Configuration • Access from Internet can be enabled / disabled in System Configuration.

  6. Security – IP Configuration Note : • The subnet of the IP addresses in an IP group should be same as those defined in the system property file which has recorded the subnet information of the ITED LAN. Otherwise, the system does not allow saving of the IP group.
