TASK:Structured Writing – Describe what life on the Plantations was like for the slaves, using the images provided and your own research. • Paragraph One: Introduction – Cotton; How was it farmed? What were the plantations like? i.e. scale, temperature etc. • Paragraph Two: Slave Work – What type of jobs did the slaves do? What seasons did they do which jobs in? What hours did they work? • Paragraph Three: Slave Living Conditions – What were slaves houses like? How did they compare to the slave-owners houses? • Paragraph Four: Slave Punishments – What punishments did slaves receive? What things might the slave have done to be punished? • Paragraph Five: Conclusion – Pull all your key points together and state overall what life was like on the Plantations for the slaves.
