Who were the four leaders during this period? • Explain why Chernenko boycotted the Olympic Games (in LA) in 1984. • What was the name of the boycotting nations’ alternative games? • How did the USA react to/regard the boycott? • In what way was the boycott significant? • Why did the Superpowers become more willing to resume the search for détente in the mid-1980s? Explain 2 reasons (clues = nuclear fears + Gorbachev). Complete for homework!
