Communication with the group and the activity center • Planning of the semester calendar of activities • Ensuring the involvement of all members • Being open to criticisms and praise of other members • Delegation and guidance of tasks such as but not limited to • Purchasing craft materials • Purchasing food • Brainstorming ideas LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES 

  4. Active participation (at least 80% of all sessions) • Answering to the leaders • Challenging one’s comfort zones MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES 

  5. Being respectful to your leaders, the organization representatives and the elderly at the center • Gathering materials for activities SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES 

  6. If you know cantonese, mandarin or malay – don’t be shy! Take a chance to be friendly and show an interest in someone’s life. • If you don’t, don’t despair – the best way to say something is to demonstrate it. • Smile • Be polite  TIPS FOR WORKING WITH THE ELDERLY
