Getting Started • READ: Gentleman of the Road – page 256 • LIST: 3 reasons some people viewed Highwaymen in a positive manner even though they were criminals. • ANALYZE: The TONE of the author in “Gentleman of the Road”. Which word best describes the author’s attitude toward highwayman: angry, sympathetic, silly, sad, approving.

Answer the following questions on your google drive document, December. • Who can tell me what happened in the story. • Who can figure out HOW the redcoats (cops) found out that the highwayman was due to come back to Bess? • How is the Highwayman like another character we have read about this year (hint: think Outsiders)?
