  2. Site Description: Border Field State Park (BFSP) is on southwest corner of United States and within Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve (TRNERR). Goat Canyon sedimentation basins intercept sediment, trash, tires, and other debris contained in storm water from sources within Mexico. Tijuana River N 0.5 mile TRNERR Sed.   4. Goat Canyon Basins 12/08 • Proposed Remediation Project: • Removal and processing of approximately 60,000 cubic yards of trash, tires, debris, and sediment in addition to the already approved installation of the trash/tire capture and removal system. 12/08 Agenda Item F/5 September 8, 2009

Tijuana River Valley Recovery TeamAction Teams and Mandates • Border Action Team: Develop and implement solutions on California side that will capture and divert trash, tires, and sediment before it reaches the Tijuana River Valley. • Cleanup Action Team: Characterize and cleanup trash, tires, and manage sediment in the Tijuana River channel. • Restoration Action Team: Develop and implement restoration, mitigation, and flood control features of the Tijuana River Valley ecosystem. • Bi-National Action Team: Identify sources of trash, tires, and sediment in the Tijuana River Valley watershed that impact the floodplain and recommend, establish, and implement a plan to abate and manage these sources in cooperation with Mexican agencies.
