NST (New Solar Telescope) Roy Coulter, NST Project Director に説明受ける 主鏡: Zerodure 10cm 厚メニスカス、裏と横からてこ(36点)で保持。     軸外し放物 f3.8m, F/2.4、製作 Steward Observatory Mirror Lab   将来はアクチュエータで各点の力を制御。    表面に気流、裏面冷却系はまだ。 排熱鏡:四や120”、反射光はドーム内壁に。 副鏡:楕円、83.2m effective focal length (f/52 at Gregorian focus) 構造:シリンダーでのデクリの動かし方がユニーク。     東西のスライド式ウェイトで重心を常に極軸の鉛直上に持ってくる。     副鏡を支える構造は軽量アルミ。位置精度が確保できるかわからない。調整機構? ドーム:ドームには開口と同じ大きさの穴。     側面には風通しの窓が多数。    羽の角度で各開口を調整できるが、どう使うかはまだ不明。 現状:観測室までまだ光は行ってない。    望遠鏡側面(ナスミス)でCTを設置中。(韓国人)    メイン構造物以外はすべてをここで手作りでやっている。    望遠鏡周りは3人のシニアなアメリカおじさん。計算機、制御ソフトもおじいさん。 First light 画像: 4/2-3 あたりに撮ったもの。 705nm, 5ms x 100image でspeckle reconstruction、 開口90cm 相当の回折限界像を得ている。 100枚の生画像はありきたりに見えるが、求めた画像はLaPalma 1m に 予定:AO SacPeak システムをコピー、 Polarimeter は設計中
