Solar power efficiency is improving and is becoming able to generate more power - Water heating typically represents a high percentage of energy consumption in homes and businesses, in some cases 30% or more. Solar water heating (SWH) is particularly promising; it is one of the simplest and least expensive ways to harness renewable energy and can be comparatively cost-effective for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. When SWH systems supplement or replace conventional water heaters they displace some or all of the fuel that would have been used in those systems. Consequently, emissions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants are reduced, helping to mitigate climate change while often improving local air quality, and sometimes indoor air quality as well.

The benefits : - Solar power is cheaper, and it is also very reliable. - There is an unlimited amount of energy from the sun which means there will always be energy as long as the sun is shinning. - Solar energy is very sustainable - Solar power gives off no green house gases. The parts : - There is a collector and a tank - The collector is the base of where the sun converts into energy. - The tank is where the water is heated and stored.
