Le mâle est bleu en été et brun en hiver pendant que la femelle est brune toute l’année . On le trouve dans les bords des forets, des champs et des marécages . Le mâle est bleu en été et brun en hiver pendant que la femelle est brune toute l’année . L’ étéil mange des insectes et l ‘hiver plutôt des graines.
