Prov 31:27; 1 Tim 5:14 • She watches over the ways of her household, & does not eat the bread of idleness. • Therefore I desire that the younger widows marry, bear children, manage the house, give no opportunity to the adversary to speak reproachfully. 15 For some have already turned aside after Satan.

  5. MOTHERHOOD: • Manager of the home • Modelof obedience

  6. James 4:6-7 • But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil & he will flee from you.

  7. Titus 2:5 • Younger women: to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.

  8. 1 Peter 3:1-5 • Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands...with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle & quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. 5 For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands

  9. Luke 1:38 • Maryresponded to the angel, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word”

  11. Prov 14:1; 2 Tim 1:5 • Thewise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands. • When I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois & your mother Eunice, & I am persuaded is in you also.

  12. Proverbs 6:20-23 • My son, keep your father’s command, & do not forsake the law of your mother. 21 Bind them continually upon your heart; tie them around your neck. 22 When you roam, they will lead you; when you sleep, they will keep you; & when you awake, they will speak with you. 23 For the command-ment is a lamp, & the law a light; reproofs of instruction are the way of life.

Proverbs 31:1-9 • Mother of King Lemuel: Do not give your strength to women…4 Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes intoxicating drink; 5 Lest they drink & forget the law, & pervert the justice of all the afflicted…8 Open your mouth for the speechless, in the cause of all who are appointed to die. 9 Open your mouth, judge righteously, & plead the cause of the poor & needy.

  15. MOTHERHOOD: Helping the Helpless • Jochebedprotected Moses her son from an evil plot (Exo 2; Heb 11:23) • Rizpahprotected her two dead sons from birds & scavenging animals (1 Sam 21:10)

  16. MOTHERHOOD: • Manager of the home • Model of obedience • Teacher of good things • Helper of the helpless • Honoredfor her life

  17. Proverbs 31:28-31 • Her children rise up & call her blessed; her husband also, & he praises her: 29 “Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.” 30 Charm is deceitful & beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands, & let her own works praise her in the gates.

  19. Love Mom With Sincerity • “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed & in truth” 1 John 3:18 Honor Mothers Who Are Mothers Indeed!
