NPDES CAFO Rule • June 30, 2006 Proposed rule published to address Waterkeeper decision • Mar 7, 2008 Supplemental proposed rule with additional options • Oct 31, 2008 EPA Administrator signed final rule revisions responding to Waterkeeper decision • Nov 20, 2008 CAFO rule revisions published in Federal Register • Dec 22, 2008 Effective date for CAFO rule revisions • Feb 27, 2009 Compliance date deadline for newly defined CAFOs to seek NPDES permit coverage and permitted CAFOs to develop and implement NMPs

Proposed Idaho NPDES CAFO General Permit • Nov 19, 2009 Federal Register notice • Dec 8-10, 2009 Public meetings • Jan 19, 2010 End of public comment period • EPA is currently reviewing the comments received during the public comment period. • EPA will issue the final Idaho NPDES CAFO general permit once all significant comments have been addressed and consultation with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service is complete.
