Financial Model • How is the money used? • Subscribers pay annual subscription fee to Kuali Foundation • Portion of subscription fee pays off initial development costs and is “banked” for future development • Hosting institutions invoice Kuali Foundation for service hosting / support costs • Advantages • Kuali Foundation acts as broker between subscribers and hosting institutions • Fewer contracts, simplified management / provisioning

How is it supported? • Tier 1 support is performed at the subscriber’s institution by a functional owner • Tier 2 support is provided as part of the subscription by Berkeley • Issues are escalated to Tier 2 support by the functional owner at Tier 1 • Infrastructure and application issues are resolved by service providers at the hosting institution in coordination with Tier 2 support
