Standards:The Carnegie Museum of Natural History offers hands on “experimental learning” that follows the PA Academic Standards WORLD HISTORY UNITED STATES HISTORY • PA STANDARD: 8.4.6.B: Identify and explain the importance of historical documents, artifacts, and sites which are critical to world history. • PA STANDARD:8.3.6.B: Explain the importance of significant historical documents, artifacts, and places critical to United States history.

  4. TEACHER RESOURCES LEARNING BINS: Rent out bins to bring to into your classroom for more experimental hands on learning!!!

MORE TEACHER RESOURCES…. • GROUP TOURS: • Carnegie’s Fossil Tour: • -1 hour tour for 2nd through 6th graders • The Evolution of Life Tour: • -1 ½ hour tour for 7th through 12 graders • Fascinating Fossil Tour: • -1 hour tour for Preschoolers through Kindergarten • (Each tour is matched up with PA Academic Standards, and has suggested Pre-Tour Activities) • ***Many other tours are offered at the Museum that are not mentioned on the website…***

Hours and Admissions • HOURS: • Tuesday–Saturday: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.Thursday: 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Sunday: noon–5 p.m.  • Monday: Closed • Open: New Year's Eve, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Mondays in July and August (closed July 4), and Christmas EveClosed: New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day • ADMISSIONS: • Adults: $17.95 Seniors (65+): $14.95 Students with ID and children 3-18 : $11.95Members and children under 3: Free • Admission includes same-day access to both Carnegie Museum of Natural History and Carnegie Museum of Art. A surcharge may apply for some special exhibitions.
