  2. Accessing the CBPS Network Accessing the network will allow installation of network printers and server file access.

  3. Wireless Network • Click wireless icon on lower right hand corner of screen: • Choose “Wildcats” > Connect • Password: helper!23

  4. Windows 8 Machines On tile screen simply type: \\bigcat>enter

  5. Windows 7 Machines: 2. Type: \\bigcat Click Start

  7. If done correctly this will come up. This accesses our server: If you get a screen to log into here use the following: Username: Student.Use Password: 12345

  8. Installing a Printer

  9. Wireless Printers We have two: Located in the library next to Mrs. Stansberry’s room. Located in the East hallway between the FSC and Art Room

  10. Windows 8 Machines On tile screen simply type: \\bigcat>enter

  11. Windows 7 Machines: 2. Type: \\bigcat Click Start

  12. Open “CBData” folder If you get a screen to log into here use the following: Username: Student.Use Password: 12345

  13. Locate and open folder CBData > Locate and open folder called: 1 All School Technology Information

  14. Open folder called: “HP Office Jet wireless drivers”

  15. Double Click on file:

  16. Allow Change to computer CLICK HERE Check Accept then NEXT

  17. Select Wireless

  18. Enter the IP Address # of the printer you want to add. Library: 10.1.252.1 East Hall: 10.1.252.2

  19. Click Next

  20. 68015 DONE!

  21. Reinstalling a Printer Problems with wireless printing? Try deleting and reinstalling your printer.

  22. What to do if you have already installed the printer software but you are having trouble printing: Windows 8: Go to your tile screen and type “Devices and Printers” Select : “Devices and Printers”

  23. Windows 7 Machines: 2. Click “Printers and Devices” Click Start

  24. Delete current printer: Right mouse click on printer and choose “Remove device” 2. Click “Add a printer”

  25. Click: “The printer that I want wasn’t listed”

  27. 1. Type printer IP Address here 2. Click “Next” Printer IP Addresses: East Hall: 10.1.252.2 (by the Art Room) Library: 10.1.252.1

  28. Networked Printers There are several located through out the building. You will need to know the name of the printer before loading. The name corresponds with the location of the printer.

  29. Windows 8: Go to your tile screen and type: \\bigcat > enter

  30. Windows 7 Machines: 2. Type: \\bigcat >enter Click Start

  31. If you get a screen to log into here use the following: Username: Student.Use Password: 12345

  32. Printer icons look like this: Double click on the icon of the printer that you want to load. Be sure you know which printer you are loading! Do not load the Toshiba printers.

  33. Click “YES” to allow changes when it comes up and you are Done! Click “Install driver”

  34. Installing Windows Updates Keeping current on updates will keep your computer running smoothly

  35. Windows 8 Machines At tile screen type: “Updates” > “Check for Updates”

  37. Windows 7 Machines: When you shut down you will receive a message like this. Allow your computer to load these updates. In your Control Panel select System and Security and then Windows Update

  39. cbtech@esu2.org • Email any problems that you have to this address. Mrs. Stansberry and Mrs. Bowder will both receive the information. If you do not hear from them with in the day or next if you email at night, please check in with them. • If you email is not working contact Mrs. Stansberry or Mrs. Bowder directly • If you are having issues with anything that is covered in this presentation simply check first with your classroom teacher. They may be able to help and avoid loss of classroom time.

  43. Drop Box • Drop box will allow you to save work to the cloud so you can access it from any location providing you have internet access. • To create an account: • Go to www.dropbox.com • Create an account using your school email address.

First Day to do list: Label computer and power cord- find some masking tape or something Check for Sophos on the Windows 7 Forticlient- Windows 8- Don’t let computers leave the room if these are not on the machines. School website has the policies Make students aware teachers have access to any student computer at any given time, including email Cheating using technology will result in consequences outlined in student handbook Students will have to pay for tech services in all situations How to email for tech support: cbtech@esu2.org Proper shut down procedures Care and handling of the computers Have students open programs: Adobe and Microsoft Office to make sure software in registered Create or update their websites in Weebly Record all user names and passwords for: Email, Weebly, Dropbox and device
