Three Themes Preparation Process “Decision Day” Ongoing investment
Preparation Process What job description are we aligning the candidates with? Leader Shepherd Other Is the training still answering the description of 30 years ago? Is ordained ministry designed primarily for Senior Pastors/Preaching Pastors?
Preparation Process What tools are we using to assess? DISC Myers/Briggs PDP Use of references Spiritual gifts profile Passion assessment “Anointed Moments” Evaluation
Preparation Process Are we preparing candidates at college, seminary, and FLAME for the “real world” Has our pathway for ordination adjusted for the growing number of “specialty ministries”?
Decision Day/Season Have we prayed diligently about this? Have we laid good groundwork? Have the interviews modeled what it means to “speak the truth in love”? Are we willing to make the “hard call” when necessary?
Ongoing Investment What tools are we providing after they go into the local church? Mentoring Coaching Networking/Partnering
Two Questions for Reflection What does the church look like in the next 10-15 years? Are we preparing Pastors/leaders for that?
