How I was introduced to Buddhism • Imagine that you are on the edge of a cliff that is 100 feet tall • You look over the edge of the cliff and you see hundreds of jagged, sharp and pointy rocks at the bottom • Now imagine that someone has pushed you over the cliff and you are falling to your certain the death

  3. The question becomes • Would you take pleasure in the fall knowing that you are going to die…… • If the answer is no, than why would you take pleasure in life??????

  13. Four Noble Truths • There is suffering in the world. To live is to suffer. (Dukkha) • The Buddha found this out when he was young and experienced suffering and death in others.

  14. Four Noble Truths The cause of suffering is self-centered desire and attachments.

  15. Four Noble Truths The solution is to eliminate desire and attachments.

  16. Four Noble Truths To reach nirvana, one must follow the Eightfold Path.
