  2. OBJECTIVES • To develop Nuclear Model Villages • To establish centralized “National Pest Reporting and Alert System” • Capacity building • Awareness campaigns

  3. Cooperating Institutions

  4. Ist OBJECTIVE • To develop Nuclear Model Villages * Chindwara replaced with Jabalpur ** Uttar Pradesh lesser area in pigeon pea in comparison to chickpea

  6. July 2011 Gulbarga : Seedling rot caused by Fusarium ventricosum (F. solani) Disease scenario

  7. In-vitro screening of effective bioagent for management of F. ventricosum At 6th day of incubation at 25oC C C C E E E + + - Pseudomonas fluorescens Trichodermaviride Bacillus subtilis Hither to Fusariumventricosumis not reported as a causal agent for pigeonpea wilt

  15. IIndOBJECTIVE • To establish centralized “National Pest Reporting and Alert System” “ e – Pest Surveillance” for Mungbean& well as Urdbean” has been made operational. Login ID & PASSWORD will remain the same

  16. “ e- Pest surveillance” software has been further modified / enhanced to cover Mung & Urdbean In order to facilitate ready to use generic SMS material has been developed for pigeonpea and distribute to all the trainees.

  17. Total Mobile Numbers added: 6183 State wise mobile database:

  21. IIIrdOBJECTIVE • Capacity building Hyderabad, Raipur, Kolkata, Lucknow

  22. Training of State Govt Officials in “e-Pest Surveillance based Pest Management”

  23. IVthOBJECTIVE Awareness campaigns

  24. Resource material on MungbeanandUrdbeanhas been compiled and distributed to all stake holders.

  25. Identification of upcoming “pest” problems and their mitigation

  26. Research Contribution - Anantapur (AP) Rainfall (mm) in Anantapur district in Kharif 2010-11 Disease incidence was estimate in the adopted areas. Loss estimation and management experiment is to be carried out this year.

  27. Research Contribution - Anantapur (AP) A probably new strain of Sclerotiumrolfsiiwas isolated from the diseased Chickpea plants. Isolate is slow growing with suppressive mycelium Sclerotia are very sparse and minute. Captan Testing of different fungicides

  28. Research focus - Gulbarga (Karnataka) • Estimate Phytopthora blight disease incidence and extent of severity and field reaction of different varieties being grown by the farmers • Identify existence of races • Look for fungicidal resistance • Impact of cultural practices adopted by the farmers

  29. Research Contribution - Gulbarga (Karnataka) 2000 ……… 2010 SMD is on increase Based on analysis of decade long field data, varietal reaction and climatic data, educational resource material is being prepared with the help of ARS, Gulbarga for the benefits of SMS and field workers. Capable of causing 100% yield losses.

  30. Research focus - Gulbarga (Karnataka) • Due to climate change & reduced chemical pesticide use Pod fly and Maruca borer % infestation is on increase. Field validating IPM strategies to contain yield losses. Generate data on podflyvis-à-visbeneficial insects.

  31. Research focus - Gulbarga (Karnataka) • Due to reduction in chemical pesticide use Pod bug infestation is on increase. Healthy Field validating IPM strategies to contain yield losses. Infested

  32. Research focus - Jabalpur (MP) & Gulbarga (Karnataka) • Find out the optimal weather conditions for disease spread • Estimate Cercospora leaf spot disease incidence ( intensity as well) and screen chemical methods to control them
