  2. WHAT I DID • This year was my first as Athletic Director & Dean of Students at Merritt Academy in New Haven, MI. • I spent hundreds and hundreds of hours working as an assistant administrator and learned as I went.

  3. Responsibilities • Athletic Director= Scheduling, Supervision, Field Prep, Transportation Arrangement, Referee Scheduling, Budget Creation & management, Fundraising all of our 50k budget, Eligibility, Uniform and Equipment management, Banquets/End of Year items, and many many many more. • Dean of Students= K-12 discipline program, Saturday School program, other admin duties.

  4. WHAT I WILL REMEMBER • 1) To get all information before making a decision (bring in stakeholders!) • 2) Keep great communication with staff, parents, and students. Tell them the “why” of it all. • 3) Have a vision of where you want to be personally and where you want the school to be and work hard to get there.

  5. PROFESSIONAL GOALS • 1) Be a positive role-model for students • 2) Continue to learn each day • 3) Stay true to who I am in my decision-making • 4) Have fun doing a job I love
