Content 'educational content item' or 'educational resource' instead of 'learning object' refers to a defined package of structured, factual information that is linked with a specific educational context ideally, with defined educational objectives, expected learning outcomes and assessment methods recommended with certain teaching methods with a registered history of creation and evolution

Repurposing Contexts (1) repurpose in terms of the actual content • add or mutate content of a learning object • integrate or fuse content from different objects • re-organize existing content (2) repurpose to different languages • crucial as medical knowledge has to be conveyed to the public as well (3) repurpose to different cultures • mainly account for different legislation, medical regulations, lab test norms, reference values, units, requirements for different groups

  13. 5. … and procedures identify the source (or parent) educational resource or resources – keep record of the original resource and especially any related metadata (if they exist). examine parent resource’s IPR describe the repurposing context. repurposed resource should be described with the related mEducator metadata. IPR for the repurposed resource should be resolved the quality of the repurposed resource should be assessed difficulties, bottlenecks, experience and best practices should be reported (including total repurposing effort)
