  6. Course Description A study of the physical, emotional, social and environmental health issues affecting children. Emphasis on the impact of these health problems on learning and the role of the school in their prevention, discovery and referral for treatment.

  7. What to know before • Basic health terminology • Any basic health class would be adequate preparation for HE415

  8. What will you learn? • Major health issues in youth today • Leading factors in childhood obesity epidemic • National and Oregon’s health statistics
