  2. Calgary Release Topics Procurement Financial Management Scripting APIs Web Service Consumer Support Zing Text Search Number Maintenance High Security Settings Workflow Validation Runbook Activities

  3. Calgary Release Procurement Application to create purchase orders and to obtain items for fulfilling service catalog requests. Includes: • Service catalog request tracking • Purchase order creation and management • Transfer order creation and management • Asset receiving It requires plugin activation.

  4. Calgary Release Financial Management Financial Management is the process of planning, analyzing, directing, and controlling costs. Provides modules for depreciation, fixed assets, expense lines, and cost centers. Now available in the base system (with Calgary).

  5. Calgary Release Scripting APIs All scripts delivered with Calgary reference script objects instead of Packages calls. ServiceNowno longer allows Packages calls to ServiceNow Java code. Upgrading to Calgary does not upgrade any script that was authored or modified by the customer. Therefore, we have to check this before upgrading!

  6. Calgary Release Web Service Consumer Support The following enhancements are available with the Calgary release: • The SOAP message module supports SOAP version 1.2. • The SOAP message module supports complex WSDL formats such as allowing imports of external WSDL and XSD.

  7. Calgary Release Zing Text Search Enhancements with Calgary: • To improve performance, the text index structure is revised. For existing instances, administrators must convert text indexes to the new structure to take advantage of this feature: System Definition>Text Indexes (Under Related Links, click Upgrade to Calgary Text Search) • When text indexes are converted to the new index structure, the text index reaper is no longer necessary to maintain indexes. • To prevent performance and data corruption problems, you can no longer regenerate all text indexes. Administrators can regenerate the index for an individual table if necessary.

  8. Calgary Release Number Maintenance Some improvements concerning the use of numbers. For example: When you create a number format for a table, an auto-numbered field is now automatically created on the table if one does not already exist. To improve usability, the Table field on the Number form is now a reference field. You can now create only one number format per table. Also, the Table and Number fields are now required. Default values are now specified in the system dictionary for the Number (defaults to 1000) and Number of digits (defaults to 7).

  9. Calgary Release High Security Settings Calgary enhancements: A new system propertycontrols how an instance processes ACLs when high security is enabled. By default, high security instances will check ACL rules for all columns before applying any updates to a row. Setting this property to false causes the instance to apply ACL rules as each column is processed in alphabetical order. glide.security.checkacl.before.setvalue A new system property forces administrators to manually elevate to all privileged roles. glide.security.strict_elevate_privilege

  10. Calgary Release Workflow Validation Workflow validation examines different characteristics of a workflow to locate issues that might prevent the workflow from being published or cause it to fail. The graphical workflow editor indicates the error by highlighting the activities. Helpful for simple errors…

  11. Calgary Release Runbook Activities Some new Worflowactivites (not useful for us): Change State: A Runbook Amazon EC2 activity that sends commands to an instance to start, stop, or reboot the instance. Select Datacenter, Network, and Folder: A Runbook VMware activity that selects a vCenter datacenter, network, and folder for a virtual machine (VM) being provisioned. Select ESX Host and Datastore: A Runbook VMware activity that selects a specific ESX host and a vCenterdatastore for a virtual machine (VM) being provisioned. Select IP Address: A Runbook VMware activity that selects an IP address for a virtual machine (VM) being provisioned. Select Name: A Runbook VMware activity that selects a name for a virtual machine being provisioned. Activity variable: The Snapshot MOR id variable was added to the Revert to Snapshot activity. This variable reverts the virtual machine to the snapshot with this ManagedObjectReference ID.
