  2. 2 Broad Reasons Why People TakeDrugs • Pleasure: • to be part of a social group or occasion • (a party, rave, the pub, a celebration etc.) • 2. Pain: • to escape and distance ourselves from others, • from emotional or physical pain, or to cope • with stress and difficulties etc.

  3. How Do You Manage Pain? Turn it IN on yourself Resolve it Face it Deal with it Turn it OUT and blame others What is Effective Pain Management? Numb or Relieve your pain Denial and avoidance Run!
