Project Preparation and Eligibility • Factors assessed in project preparation studies include • Strategic long term development needs • and priority investments • Cost effectiveness and efficiency of investments • Pollution reduction objectives • Environmental impact • Consumer affordability • Financial capacity of recipients • Long term sustainability of operations • Consistency with national and regional policies • Trans-boundary issues • Eligible projects are expected to be in the fields of: • Wastewater treatment • Solid Waste Management • Air pollution • Water Supply (as a precursor to pollution abatement) • Agricultural pollution

  4. Duration of EPPF • Between 5 – 10 studies) • Programme period = 2 years, ending in October 2008 • No allocation to IFIs or countries • Therefore first come first served.
