  1. 3TypesofCloudServicesIntroduction Cloudcomputinghasthreemostcommontypesofcloudservicestooffer.Dependingontheneedsofusers,anytypeofcloudcomputingserviceisusedeitherindividuallyorincombinationwithothers.Thefollowingisabriefintroductiontothethreecloudservicetypes,namely,SaaS,PaaSandIaaS(https://www.eztalks.com/). ●Softwareasaservice(SaaS) SaaSisalsoknownas“on-demandsoftware”.UsersofSaaSratherthanfullybuythelicenseofvarioussoftwarehirethesoftwareatregularintervalsanduseitthroughanInternetbrowser.ThevarietyofsoftwareprovidedbySaaSisverybroad.ThereareanumberofsoftwareusedbySaaSfromcompaniessuchasezTalksVideo Conferencingthatemploysincontentmanagement,humanresourcesmanagement,accounting,ERP,customerrelationshipmanagementandotherrelevantareas. Thesoftware-as-a-servicetypeofcloudcomputinggrowsveryquickly,whilethelargestmarketforsoftware-as-a-serviceelectricityiscustomerrelationshipmanagement. Inthisservicemodel,thecloud-basedapplicationsareofferedtothecustomerasaserviceonrequest.Itisasingleinstanceoftheservicerunningonremotecomputers“inthecloud”,ownedandoperatedbyothers,andconnectedtotheusers'computersovertheInternetandtypicallyawebbrowser.SocialnetworkingsiteslikeFacebook,Twitter,FlickrandGoogleareallexamplesofSaaS,althoughusersareabletoaccesstheservicesthroughanyInternet-enableddevice.

  2. ●Platformasaservice(PaaS) PaaSprovidescomputersplatformsforusersofcloudcomputing.Itisalsothelinkbetweentheothertwoservicesprovidedbycloudcomputing;SaaSandIaaS. Anormalcomputerrequiresacomputerplatformthatcontainshardwarearchitecturealongwithaframeworkofsoftware.Suchaplatformisthebasisofthecollaborationof hardwareandsoftware,whichincludestheoperatingsystemoftheoperatingsystem,architectureandlanguages.Whenitcomestocloudcomputing,intheabsenceofarealcomputer,itisplatformasaservicethatprovidesuserswitheverythingthatisrequiredtocomposeacomputingplatform. SomeofthefacilitiesthatPaaSprovidesincludehosting,implementation,testandapplicationdevelopment,andapplicationdesign.Inaddition,cloudserviceprovidersthatofferPaaSincludeasetoffeaturestodesign,test,implement,manage,andrunapplications.Allthesefacilitiescanbeusedbybothindividualandbusinesscustomers,bysubscribingto asinglepackagewithallthefeaturesoffered. InfrastructureavailabletousersofInterfaceasaServiceincludessoftware,servers,networkdevices,anddatacenterspace.Thecostincurredbycustomers'cloudserviceproviderstypicallydependontheamountofactivityperformedbytheuserandisthereforenotset.However,thereisaminimalamountofchargedependingonthenumberoffacilitiesthatauserhassubscribedto. Infrastructure-as-a-Service(IaaS)isabasiccomputingandstoragespaceprovidedbyastandardizedserviceoverthenetwork.Thismodelhasmadetheworkloadeasierbyconsolidatingandprovidingdatacenterspace,storagesystems,networkdevices,servers,andsoon.Inaddition,thecustomercandevelopandinstalltheirownoperatingsystems,softwareandapplications. Thereareanumberofadvantagesofusingcloudcomputertechnology.However,anytypeofcloudservicecomeswithitsownsetofadvantagesanddisadvantages.Inordertomaketherightdecision,itisimperativethatuserscarefullyweightheprosandcons.
