  1. Welcome to the Year 6 presentation

Daily routine 8:50 – Morning Challenge and register - word or maths activity 9:00 White Rose Maths 10:20 Break 10:35 Assembly 11:00 Literacy – Pathways to Write followed by reading and Spag activities 12:15 Newsround 1:15 Afternoon register and opportunity for quiet reading 1:30 Science, PE or topic activities 3:30 Finish

  3. Curriculum Literacy - Pathways to Write programme based on a book per half term. Maths –White Rose Maths: Place value, negative numbers followed by addition and subtraction. Science –White Rose Science scheme – Living things and their habitat. Topic –World War II – key events and the impact upon children. PE – Football and Tag rugby Art/DT – Mrs Walker Music – Drumming RE – Mrs Walker MLF/ IT – Mrs Jackson - French

  4. Homework • New online platform called Atom Prime – Please activate! • Set Thursday/Friday, in for the following Wednesday. • Some research projects will be set during the year. • Encourage daily reading at home.

  5. How can you help your child at home? • Ensure homework is completed on time • Encourage regular reading • Ask about their subjects and test their understanding • Visit website for educational links, background reading and spelling list. • Use BBC Bitesize

  9. Transition to High School • Ongoing process through the year • Places finalised at the end of March • Year 7 leads start to visit school in June • High school visits mid July • All aimed at creating a smooth, comfortable transition between Primary and Secondary.
