  3. Our Charge • “Curriculum Enhancement: Study the current degrees offered in each School at AUM. Which degree programs are the strongest? How can those be enhanced? Determine if/what new degree programs are needed for each school. Which would suit student needs? Community needs? Design a plan for implementation including projected costs.”

  4. Our Objectives • Identify 3-5 existing or potential academic programs that would enhance the academic quality of program offerings at AUM • Document AUM’s strengths and opportunities regarding the programs identified • Develop a plan and budget for developing these programs auburnmontgomery

  5. What is a Program of Distinction? • National/International recognition • Faculty, students and graduates • High demand (employers) • Will attract students • Strong interactions with industry, business, government and/or organizations • Growing record of extramural funding auburnmontgomery

  6. Why does this matter? • AUM does not have a modern array of programs • AUM has room to grow by adding/expanding programs that will attract students and enhance our reputation and funding possibilities auburnmontgomery

Our Focus • Identify one existing academic program that meets most of the criteria for a program of distinction(POD) • Identify one area that with additional resources could become a POD • Identify a new program whose addition would create a “dynamic and applied academic and research program” auburnmontgomery
