IPPE • To allow the student pharmacist to gain a greater appreciation for the profession of pharmacy as it relates to their communities and the societal needs. • Students will have the opportunity to work in an inter-professional environment with other health profession students and providers to assist them in developing professional attitudes, judgment and skills needed to function in this type of practice environment. • students participate in an organized service-learning activity that meets identified community needs and reflect on the service activity in such a way as to gain further understanding of course content, a broader appreciation of the discipline (ex. Pharmacy) and an enhanced sense of civic responsibility

APPE • To provide ‘real world’ experience gained in a variety of professional settings. • The primary goal of APPEs is to enable students to apply knowledge, skills, and behaviors to the practice of contemporary clinical pharmacy within the health care system. • Enabling goals include: to identify population-based drug therapy and monitoring requirements; to communicate effectively to patients, preceptors, and members of the health care team; • To recommend patient-specific therapeutic plans based on the unique clinical, psychosocial, cultural, and educational needs of each patient; and to develop organizational and time-management skills

Pharm.D Objectives of EE • To develop, maintain and support a network of Academy members who are involved with or interested in professional experience programs • Identify opportunities , issues and concerns relating to the development , administration and evaluation of high quality professional practice experiences for students • Disseminate best practices in Experiential Education by encouraging scholarship • Foster innovation in professional experience programs to prepare competent pharmacy practitioners . • Provide opportunities for leadership and professional development for members • Optimally preparing pharmacists for current and future practice.
