CAOBISCO IN FIGURES • Over 2000 companies • More than 245,000 direct employees • more than 51 billion Euros annual turnover • a production of 10,4 million tonnes of products • 4,4 billion Euros of exports (10% of the total value of EU food exports) • Import value of 1,2 billion Euros • Use 30% of the European production of sugar • 35% skimmed milk powder at full EU price • 50% of the world production of cocoa beans

MISSION STATEMENT • Developing a legal and political environment consistent with the economic interest of our Industry; • Having a constructive and continuous dialogue with all stakeholders in our business environment; • Advising and inspiring policymakers responsible for Community and international legislation, by discussion and debate and developing positions drawn up by experts from the industry; • Promoting representation at National level across the EU;

Working closely and actively with other organizations on dossiers of common interest, to guarantee a consistent legislative framework, propitious to the development of its industries. • Promoting the image of its industries as responsible and law abiding and maintaining the confidence of the authorities and our consumers. • Defending the principles of fair competition and industrial ethics. • Encouraging and promoting the spirit of co-operation and solidarity among our members and national representatives. • Acting as an effective source of information about our industry and a contact point for the media in Europe and globally.
