  2. About BEA • BEA is one of the world’s leading statistical agencies • Key statistics produced include: • Gross domestic product (GDP) • Personal income and outlays • Balance of payments • Income and GDP by state and metropolitan area • GDP-by-industry

  3. Background • Data was previously available through 5 separate applications • Web site study in 2008 determined users wanted a single system and a common look and feel • New interactive data system was built by a team comprising staff from all BEA units

  4. Benefits of New Interactive Tables • Access to all BEA data—national, regional, international, industry • Easier to modify tables • Download to .pdf, .xls and .csv • Log-in and save complex tables for later • Export charts as PNG files • Share tables via social media

  5. BEA Interactive Tables • Version 1.0 launched June 17, 2011 • Legacy applications still available • Currently available at www.bea.gov/itable
