MSSS and Imaging Node Status Update - August 2, 2006

This document provides an update on the ongoing collaboration between MSSS and the Imaging Node as of August 2, 2006. The first draft of the EDR SIS has been reviewed and commented on, with the second draft pending. MSSS has submitted skeleton templates for required CAT files, and data product samples for both CTX and MARCI have been validated. Communication between MSSS and PDS has improved, fostering dialogue on standards. The Imaging Node is coordinating peer review processes for data products.

  1. MSSS CTX/MARCI Status - August 2, 2006 EDR SIS - Imaging Node reviewed and commented on 1st draft; awaiting 2nd draft. VOL SIS - Imaging Node submitted 2nd draft, awaiting comments from MSSS. CATALOG Files - MSSS has submitted skeleton templates for all required CAT files. Data Product Samples and Labels - MSSS has submitted samples for both CTX and MARCI. Imaging Node has validated them and returned comments to MSSS. E2E Test 2 - MSSS successfully participated, although the data product samples and EDR SIS have not been peer reviewed yet. Imaging Node has initiated request for MSSS to provide additional names of peer reviewers whom they would like to include in the peer review (aside from the CTX/MARCI science team and PDS). MSSS to PDS Communication - Much improved over the last several months. MSSS is receptive to PDS standards requirements and carrying on a dialogue with Imaging Node.
