  1. Sea Freight is a method of transporting large amounts of goods using carrier ships. Goods are packed into containers and then loaded onto a vessel. A typical cargo ship can carry around 19,000 containers, which means that sea freight is a cost- efficient way to transport high quantities over large distances.

  2. • FCL or Full container load, which you buy one or more full containers to forward a ship. • LCL or but container load, where your products share a container as you'll not have a full container’s worth. Once they reach their destination, the container’s contents are sorted accordingly once more. • RORO or Roll on roll off, where your products do not leave the vehicle they are in to go onto the cargo ship. The vehicle simply drives onto the ship, and then drives off the other end. • Dry bulk shipping, used for a few specific items, which are deposited into the hold of the ship rather than travelling during a container.

  3. In ocean freight shipping, goods are packed in shipping containers and therefore the freight forwarder books container or space with the agent . Shipment moves to the port and passes through customs at the purpose of origin. Goods are loaded into full containers or shared containers counting on the quantity and placed on the cargo vessel for transportation. • When they reach the destination, goods undergo customs again generally arranged by the agent and upon payment of duties and taxes, released for delivery. The goods are delivered to the receiver either within the same container or on pallets. •

  4. Sea freight shipping is usually a cost-saving option once you want to import bulk amount of products from overseas. People buying their stock from other countries find sea freight the most cost effective method. However, sea freight takes longer to ship and will be chosen once you have enough time. • The primary sorts of cargo shipped by ocean include automobiles, break bulk cargo, bulk cargo, containers and heavy weight cargo. Break bulk cargo is material stacked on wooden pallets. Bulk cargo includes goods including salt, oil, tallow, and rubbish commodities that are neither on pallets nor in containers. • and is generally defined as Containers are the most important and fastest growing cargo transferring objects that ship everything from auto parts and machinery components to shoes and toys. Project cargo and manufacturing equipment, factory components, and power equipment. Ocean freight shipping is important to the planet economy and carries the majority of international trade. • heavy weight cargo include

  5. Hands down, the ocean shipping industry offers the foremost competitive freight costs to shippers, especially over long distances. By comparison, some estimates show that ocean freight shipping costs are generally 4 to 6 times less costly than air. • No matter the dimensions of your shipments, sea freight companies can usually accommodate your needs. Smaller shipments are often grouped along side other cargo to fill a container, allowing cost-sharing of the transportation services. • A major advantage of sea freight shipping is shipping companies’ ability to handle oversized, heavy or bulky cargo – often referred to as break-bulk or Not in Trailer (NIT) loads. Such cargo could include large vehicles, equipment, construction materials and more. • Ships are designed to hold hazardous materials and dangerous cargo safely. The industry is well-versed within the handling of such goods and has regulations in situ to make sure the security of the vessel, crew, cargo and environment. • When compared to sea shipping, air and lots of other sorts of transportation have much higher carbon footprints – a particular disadvantage for the environment. •

  6. Freight quotations may be divided into three sub-groups. They are pre-carriage, carriage, and on-carriage. Each group possesses its own list of common fees. The mode of transport can be Door-to-Door, Port-to-Port and other associated services. This may cause shippers or consignees paying for several other services.
