    5. 5 The Greek name «GEODOMISI» comes from the combination of the Greek words «GEO», which means EARTH, and «DOMISI», which means CONSTRUCTION. From this name was taken the registered title of the Firm. As the name symbolically and characteristically declares, the firm specializes in Soil Mechanics, Rock Mechanics, Anchored Piles Retaining Walls and Foundation Engineering, undertaking both consulting services for all stages of construction for a project: above, below and from the earth as well as the inve-stigation and the localization of underground water reservoirs and Engineering Geology. SPECIALIZATION. The «GEODOMISI Ltd» Consulting Company for GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING – SOIL & ROCK MECHANICS – FOUNDATION ENGINEERING - ENGINEERING GEOLOGY AND WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT is registered at the Ministry of Town Planning, Environment and Public Works and holds the professional license No. 440, issued by the above Ministry and collaborates with specialized scientists and/or engineers. «GEODOMISI Ltd» is also accepted by the EUROPEAN COMMISSION - Directorate-General III (26 02-1997. Reg. n. 003908), for executing studies and/or provision of services in the field of Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Hydrogeology and Environment. «Geodomisi's» representative and managing director, Dr. C. Sachpazis, Geotechnical Engineer (Dipl., M.Sc. Eng. U.K., Ph.D. N.T.U.A.), has also been listed in the researchers of the Ministry of Defense to carry out Studies and Researches on Military Projects concerning «NATO - FORTIFICATION - TOP SECRET». The main objectives and activities of «GEODOMISI Ltd» are: Geotechnical Engineering (Soil & Rock Mechanics - Foundation Engineering – Slope Stability - Anchored Piles Retaining Wall Systems), Engineering Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Managements and Geophysical projects.

GEODOMISI Ltd, holds the No. 440 professional degree - license, issued by a European Ministry of Environment, Town Planning and Public Works, for the categories: Category: 21 (Geotechnical Engineering Investigations and Studies), Category: 20 (Geological, Geophysical, and Hydrogeological Investigations), and Category: 13 (Hydraulic Studies), which enables it, to undertake and conduct Investigations and Studies for Public Organizations, Institutions, Ministries, Counties, Municipalities, and other Public Services. In addition «GEODOMISI Ltd» has been licensed by the EUROPEAN COMMISSION - Directorate-General III (26-02-1997. Reg. n. 003908), for executing studies and/or provision of services in the field of Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Hydrogeology and Water Recourses Management. «Geodomisi's» representative and managing director, Dr. Costas Sachpazis has also been registered in the researchers of the Ministry of Defense to carry out Studies and Researches on Military Projects concerning «NATO - FORTIFICATION - TOP SECRET».

    7. 7 Specialized Activities of the Firm «Geodomisi Ltd.» Since 1984 «GEODOMISI Ltd» and his founder Dr. Costas Sachpazis has been involved in consulting to both Public and Private sector. «GEODOMISI Ltd» specialises in specific foundation cases, soil & rock mechanics, slope stability problems of large masses, geotechnical investigation of the underground, dams, tunnels, suitability of building stones and aggregates. (Concrete, Railway ballast & Skid Resistance Road Aggregates) as well as issues of management of underground-surface water resources and the environment using G.I.S.. «GEODOMISI Ltd» has executed so far more than sixty hundred (600) projects. It has also been exclusive geotechnical engineering consultant of «GREEK ATTIKO METRO S.A.» for the Design and Calculations of Anchored Piles Retaining Walls, 19,45 m deep. Furthermore he has been geotechnical engineering consultant of both «HIGHWAY COMPANY EGNATIA ODOS S.A.» and «RAILWAY COMPANY ERGOSE S.A.» for the design of large scale motorway and railway projects and underground works, as  foundation of bridges, tunnels and protection and stabilization of slopes from landslides.
