  1. Why Cryogenic Grinding? • Many analytical samples are too flexible or sensitive to be ground at ambient temperatures • Samples are subject to degrading • Does not damage DNA or RNA

  2. The Basics • Samples are chilled at Liquid Nitrogen (LN) temperatures and ground using a Magnetically-Driven Impactor • No mechanical linkages or bearings to fail • Sealed Grinding Vials ensure sample integrity • Touch screen display w/ stored procedures for rapid process replication and consistency

  3. Who Can Benefit From a Freezer/Mill®? • Forensic Labs – DNA identification • Medical Labs– genetic research, disease prevention • Hospital Labs – For genetic screening • Agricultural Labs – For crop development • Agricultural Veterinary Labs – For livestock breeding and health • Archealogy Labs – Ancient DNA extraction • Public Health and Environmental Monitoring Labs • QC Testing of Manufactured Goods • Electronics Companies – Grinding Electronic Components

  4. The Freezer/Mill® Family

  5. 6970EFM – Features & Benefits • Two Models Available • Single Grinding Chamber (6970M) • 1 Grinding Chamber + 1 Pre-Cooling Chamber • Dual Grinding Chambers (6970D) • Totally enclosed auto-fill system with no Liquid Nitrogen exposure • Increased through-put • Up to 8 small vials or 2 large vials(D model only)

  6. 6770 – Features & Benefits • Cost efficient • Runs one Micro-vial or small vial per run • Perfect for smaller samples (5 grams or less) • Additional area for pre-cooling samples • Unit has small counter footprint

  7. 6870 – Features & Benefits • Versatile large grinding chamber • Runs a variety of vials, ranging from micro vials through the large, even up to 4 of the small vials • Allows for wide range of sample sizes • Available with Auto-Fill, or without • Additional area for pre-cooling samples

  8. Freezer/Mill Accessories

  9. Freezer/MillVials & Vial Sets Vial Sizes Vial Materials • Standard Set • Stainless Steel End Plugs & Impactor with Polycarbonate Center Cylinder • Polycarbonate • Avoids metal contamination • Stainless Steel • Best for Polymer applications • Cr-Free • For RoHS/WEEE appliactions
