Designing Magnetic Nanoparticles for Thermoablative Cancer Therapy.
E N D
Designing Magnetic Nanoparticles for Thermoablative Cancer Therapy Magnetic nanoparticles (Mnps) can be magnetically drawn to a tumor in the body. Mnps can be heated selectively using a radio frequency coil. Cancer cells die 2 - 3°C cooler than healthy cells so they can be killed selectively by controlling the temperature to which the particles are heated. Our research looks at FeCo mnps for highly efficient point source heating.
