D INGO – Australia’s Wild dog

The dingo, an ancient form of domestic dog, roams Australia with striking features and behaviors. Its intense eyes can be yellow or orange, and its erect ears are small and rounded. With medium size, sharp muzzles, and bushy tails, dingoes have thick fur in colors ranging from sandy tan to black. They are nocturnal hunters, mainly targeting sheep and kangaroos, and have a distinct howl instead of a bark. With a lifespan of 10-14 years, dingoes are essential to Australia’s wildlife, although they are rare outside the continent.

  2. The dingo is a wild and ancient form of the domestic dog, found in Australia.

  3. Description The dingo has intense eyes that vary in colour from yellow to orange. The very mobile, small, rounded ears are naturally erect.

  4. Its fur is thick and comes in a range of colours, from light sandy tan, to reddish, dark brown or black.

  5. It is of medium size and has a sharp muzzle, short legs and a bushy tail.

  6. Dingoes do not bark in the wild, but do have a distinctive howl.

  7. HeightWeight Height: 19 - 23 inches (48 - 58,5 см) Weight: About 50 - 70 pounds (23 - 32 kg)

  8. Menu Dingoes will eat almost anything but they prefer sheep, wallabies and kangaroos. Dingo hunts at night.

  9. It kills the victim with sharp teeth for a one bite. Dingo hunts alone, in pairs but seldom in packs.

  10. Babies It has babies from May to April.

  11. Life Expectancy A wild dog Dingo lives for about 10 – 14 years.
