  2. General Essay Break Down An essay can be broken down into 3 parts: • 1) Intro • 2) Body • 3) Conclusion

General Essay Break Down • 1) Intro • For our paper the intro is the opening story, brief overview of your topic and the list of stakeholders. • This section should aim to catch your readers attention and give him a brief description about what you are going to be talking about in the rest of your essay.

General Essay Break Down • 2) Body • For our paper the body is the three descriptions that you are asked to provide. • “a thorough description of your topic’s environmental problems • a description of various efforts to find solutions to your topic’s environmental problems • a description of what you think should be priority actions to address your topic’s environmental problems” • This sections should be the longest and most descriptive.

  5. General Essay Break Down • 3) Conclusion • For our paper the conclusion is the closing story. • This section should summarize what you discussed in your paper AND • Try to instill a sense of urgency to address the environmental issue that your paper talks about.

  6. Paragraph Break Down • When writing each paragraph you apply the same three steps: Intro, body, conclusion. • Each paragraph should: • have an introductory sentence (intro) • followed by the detailed descriptions (body) that addresses the topic of the paragraph • This section is the “meat” of your paragraph where you should give detailed information supported by quotes and citations. • and concluded by a closing statement (conclusion) that sums up the paragraph and leads the reader into the topic of the next paragraph.
