  3. Approach: • Perform Tree Inventory • Develop Tree Management Plan • Hire Landscape Architect • Implement the President’s Reforestation Initiatives Reforestation Facilities Management

  4. Landscape Architect: • Assess the landscape opportunities for the entire campus • Develop Landscape Master Plan • Long term planning to include: • Gathering Areas • Sustainability Opportunities • Develop Sense of Place • To be completed Spring/Summer 2008 Reforestation Facilities Management

  5. Reforestation Initiative: • President Committed: • $150,000 • $50,000 per year over 3 years • Augmented by: • MO Dept of Conservation Grant - $10,000 Reforestation Facilities Management

  6. First Year – Winter 2008: Fund Landscape Architect Concentrate on Historic Quad Reforestation Facilities Management

Historic Quad: • Existing Conditions: • Dawn Redwoods once framed Carrington, Hill, and Siceluff • View-corridor from National obstructed with plantings • Trees have suffered from disease, age, and damage • Ice Storm of January 2007……the Tipping Point • Near-term change: • Remove six (6) dying trees Reforestation Facilities Management
