Expectations • Be prepared AND on time. • Be in proper uniform with your textbook, paper, and a writing utensil. • Pick up handouts from side bench on way in. • Thoughtful • Open-minded • Respect your peers and their desire to learn • If you are unsure – ASK! • Help available before, after, during class AND at lunch in room 212.

  3. Homework • Assigned daily and will be checked often. • A part of the learning skills on your report card and a good indication of how well you are keeping up with the course. • Quizzes will be given periodically. It will be your choice whether to use a quiz score towards your mark. • Biology requires memory work. • It is in your best interest to keep on top of homework and to REVIEW regularly.

  4. Assessment • Term work (70%) • Assignments and Labs • Unit Projects (ex. Genetics Family Tree, Tomatosphere Plants) • STSE Presentation(s) • 5 Unit Tests (~35%) • Lab Exam (5%) • Dissection Bell-ringer • Final Exam (25%) ~35%

  7. Gizmos at ExploreLearning.com • Use your class code to register and create a username and password for yourself. WRITE IT DOWN and keep the sheet in your binder. • We will use the gizmos for homework, assignments and quizzes.
