  1. Career Choices

  2. Does it Match My Interest? How and Why? • Culinary/Cook: Becoming a chef after high school has been a career I have wanted to get into for a while now. I like to cook and I think that I would enjoy to do it on a professional level and even open my own place one day • Accountant/Auditor: I like this occupation because I’m good with math and think this could be a field I would be able to strive in. Not only is it stable butthe better your performance the greater the reward. • Bartender: I like bartending because of the fact that you can meet new people and you’re the life of the party. Bartenders have a great way to network with others.

  3. Would I Make Enough Money To Live On? • Culinary/Cook: Across America if I was to become a chef I wouldn’t make as much as if I worked in New York. Then on top of that fact not everywhere else is as expensive as New York and could actually be more manageable. In New York Yearly you make 48,000 while the rest of the country is 21,000. I can live off 48,000 I believe. • Accountant/Auditor: Tosupport myselfI believe that this job would be the right one to choose. The start off salary is 48,000 and you can end up making 135,000. I do not ask for a lot and with 135,000 a year I would be able to support me and a family if I choose. • Bartender: A bartender makes from 31,000 to 38,000. I believe that would be enough to support me only and that’s cool. I can eat, have an apartment of my own and get things I would like. I would choose this as a side job though.

  4. Schooling/Training • Culinary/Cooks: In order to be a chef you do not need much education. In fact there aren’t even a lot of chefs that work that have their Bachelors or Masters. A few years in college would help me to start my career in this field. • Accountant/Auditor: With the more education you have the easier it is to get ahead in this field. Most accountants have their Bachelors and many also have their Masters. I would say 4 years in college would help me start off my career and then with the money I make I can always go back to school. • Bartender: Bartenders do not need too much education. Most bartenders have their high school diploma and few have went beyond their bachelors. All you need to have is your bartenders license.
