Blue Project: A Global Initiative to Conserve Water Resources

The Blue Project, led by Simran Vedvyas, aims to reduce water consumption in communities while raising awareness about the importance of conserving this vital resource. With sponsorship from various global organizations, the project includes initiatives like a Blue Walkathon, school seminars, and online awareness classes. The goal is to engage youth from around the world and address the looming water scarcity crisis that threatens over 45 countries by 2025.   2. The Challenge and My Aim • To reduce the consumption of water in my community. • To conserve and protect the resource (i.e.-water). • To take care and preserve for our biosphere and spread awareness about the importance of saving water.

  3. Why? • It is essential that we care for our resources and preserve them before it gets’ too late. • It is important that we don’t take these resources (which are depleting at a rapid rate) for granted • Water is a resource for which it is impossible to find an alternative as compared to other resources and this is why I want to help by doing my bit for the Earth and for my community.

  5. The Ground Work 2. Budget • Budget is an important factor which needs to be looked at very carefully and not hastily. • My Budget for this challenge is $10,000 • I strongly feel that by the support of my sponsors and the eco-group, I will be able to achieve my goal.

Ideas for this Challenge • A “Blue Walkathon” and a Fair to highlight the importance of saving water • School Seminars to spread awareness among the students • Create an online class and allow youth to join in from different parts of the world and spread awareness in their localities • A member of each family in your district could probably keep a record of the increase/decrease in water consumption in the house • Create an Earth Charter youth group under the name Earth Charter and Blue Youth Group and co-ordinate as a team in different parts of the world

  8. My Target My target is to reach out to at least 5-7 nations around the world as statistics show that: =BY 2025 AT LEAST 45 COUNTRIES WILL BE EXPERIENCING WATER SCARCITY AND WILL BE COUNTRIES WITH WATER SHORTAGE=
