  3. Goals Help youth develop new skills in self-management; provide families with strategies/skills to assist in coping with the ATOD/potential ATOD use and behavioral problems of the youth. Empower youths/mentors with factual information on dangers of drug use. Increase the youth participant resistance skills and communication skills. Reaffirm positive attributes in youths to give them the resiliency to make behavior changes. Reduce the risk of joining and/or participating in gang activities or resulting to violence as a means of resolving conflict. Decrease the risk of early on drug/alcohol use among adolescents Provide mentors with support service Provide drug free activities Identify support services
